Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 90 points

  • We received some a few bottles through our wine club membership. We like the Cabernet, grown in warmer inland Mendocino rather than the Anderson Valley. Navarro's approach to their wines is to let the grapes speak for themselves and to stay out of the way manipulating them. This results in a very pleasant old school style cab that is approachable now and I think will improve and last over the next 10 years or so. The nose is all cab with cassias and cherry notes, the taste of our 2 hour decanted bottle was mellow and smooth, a great steak wine. Not super complex, but very drinkable and satisfying.
I'm giving it a 90 for now, but will update as we bought a case.
