This guy’s wines from ‘99-‘05 have been remarkably consistent and delicious (and I feel lucky my cellar is accommodating dozens). Loaded with amazing purity of fruit flavors, lush texture and long, soil-driven finish. Wild that one of our cognoscenti’s recommended drinking windows ended with 2013 as this is purely secondary and just almost ready for best enjoyment. 93+

This wine was absolutely huge in every way; big, bold nose of rich fruit and soil, palate loaded with Asian spices, soy and quite savory. Impact wine with loads of life ahead.

\Lots of minerality, balanced and velvety mouthfeel...not the longest finish, but drinking well. I will probably drink my other bottle within the year.

Dinner with friends Olmos Park Bistro. Typical terroir funk on the nose almost Bordeaux like. Minerality, blood, meat, terroir, black fruit. Very dry finish. A food must wine. More angular and old world. However, I thought it possibly was in a dumb phase even after 30 minutes after which it opened very nicely. However, is it possible it is passing its prime? That is where my inexperience hurts. Possibly this needed several hours. Unfortunately all was drank so there is none for today to see if it developed.

drink Nose: Complex, earthy, dried cherry and herb, underbrush and lots of minerality. Mouth: Mature, dill notes emerging, some fruit and brightness left, but finishes a bit dried out for the dish—more of a lower PC great Village quality to our palates.
