Glad for the opportunity to taste this unknown wine at an impromptu social gathering. Decanted approx 2 hours, the wine was ruby in the glass with a garnet-tinged edge. The nose was med+ cooked and sweet red fruit driven (cherry, strawberry, currant) but also balsamic, earthy and mushroom. Palate was dry, med+ acidity, med tannins totally integrated, med alc and med body. Flavor intensity and length med+ of cherry and balsamic. This was a very good wine that is rather developed and ready to drink now.

Not a producer that is well known, but I had a Charmes-Chambertin that was solid several years ago so I bought some of these; is it a killer grand cru? No. Is it an excellent wine, that for the price is killer. Yes. The nose was lovely with ripe red fruits, classic Latricieres minerality, and some floral notes. The palate has underlying structure, mostly covered by fruit. Tannins come out more with air, but still never felt really closed. Good finish and overall improved over a 2 hour dinner. Again, this is not going to challenge for the Latricieres of the vintage, but considering I paid less for this than I paid for many village Gevrey's I would absolutely buy it again as the QPR is pretty solid.
