  • Geraniol. Lots of pine. Sage too. Honey. Floral, like the floral flavor from a meyer lemon. Fresh apricot and peach fruit. This is very dry and very aromatic, like gewurz should be. Wow, really good for the price and one of the best on the beach trip.

  • Prior bottle was only a month ago, so my notes were consistent. White peach and plenty of floral notes on the nose, especially geranium. Between light and medium bodied with a mix of white peach and white apple with some tropical highlights shining through in the middle. The acidity and tart citrus on the backside provide the needed contrast and structure, so the wine feels balanced and supported. Clearly this is holding up well and should be able to continue at this level for a bit longer. I'll plan to open the last of my bottles in November 2023.

  • Prior bottle was nearly a year ago and my notes were consistent. Very floral and aromatic on the nose with white orchard fruits and geranium dominating. Between light and medium bodied and the flavor profile was essentially unchanged; white orchard fruits, moving to white peach with white tropical highlights. The citrus notes and the acidity on the back are what make this wine special by providing the structure and the contrast. This contrast brings out the complexity and depth through the middle and leads to very good balance. This wine is showing so well at present, I may open my last bottle in July 2023, alongside some of the other Wiemer Gewurztraminers for a wider comparison (multiple vintage and single vineyard sites also).

  • Prior bottle was only a month ago, but this bottle was a clear step up, always happy with positive bottle variation. Very pretty floral notes, as well as mixed white orchard fruits, (especially white peach) on the nose. Between light and medium bodied but clearly had more intensity and depth than either the 2015 or 2017, each tasted earlier this week. The fruit profile continues to show bright, white orchard fruit notes upfront, gaining depth and adding white peach and white tropical notes through the middle. The mid-body shows good overall expressiveness. Backside has an excellent blend of acidity and tart notes which was a direct contrast to my prior bottle (June 2022) and was what made this bottle noticeably better. Given how well this bottle showed, I'll almost certainly open my next bottle in November 2022 and hope for results this good.
