Small pour at public tasting- tasted about 20 minutes after opening
deep red color, rather strong mint and eucalyptus notes, cassis and slightly tart blueberries, a very strong streak of dark underbrush on the palate guiding the medium bodied fruit into a good finish on the drier side for a Cabernet, chocolate notes, while the individual elements are rather strong- in total this comes together quite nicely, I should also note I was quite surprised to find out this was the 2010- we were asked to make guesses on vintage when the wine was poured, as a general rule I am not a fan of making Cabernet or other better known varietals in places where other grapes have been determined to perform better over time- such wines are often anonymous in feel and many (even some a couple of the most expensive Super Tuscans) start to get a bit grapey and boring after a few years in bottle, but not so here- at 9 years of age this is wonderfully youthful and quite unique in its way, it may not be a Sangiovese story- but it is a good and worthy story with a good future yet to come, one thing it does have in common with its Sangiovese cousins- it is also screaming out for food, with a full meal this would be quite wonderful I think.
***+, could use a bit more time to mellow and develop further but already in a good place

Decant carefully - a lot of sediment. 100% cab.sauv. Very cool on the nose. Menthol, eucalyptus and dark fruit. Very powerfull tannins. This will keep developing for a long time. A very interesting and cool expression of cab.sauv. from tuscanny. Very restrained, powerful, alluring, concentrated, mysterious. Among 5 other supertuscans this was WOTN for me. I am getting more and not opening until 2025.
Day 2: nothings faded. Solid structure still.

No Rating ….too young. Gave 5 + hours to open …doesn’t really budge. Leave for 10 years. Dark purple and concentrated …just asleep.
