  • This is a clear, light, straw yellow colored wine. The nose is definitive with the petrol component. The flavors are lime, pineapple and green apple with a hint of white pepper. The body is fairly light with lively acidity. The complexity is elaborate with harmonious balance. Keep in mind that this a bone-dry riesling. It tasted much better as it warmed up. Overall this is a fine wine. Based on its GG rating I was hoping for some more body.

  • A night of GG Rieslings (Ok Omens, Portland Oregon): The nose is nuanced, fresh, and lively with deep tones of saline, lemon peels, peaches, green apples, flint, acacia flowers, pears, and crushed rocks. There is excellent depth and style here as this leans into a more salinic style than one that relies on citrus fruits. The Medium bodied feel shows off the liveliness and depth of the nose along with racy, high acidity that cuts like a hot knife through butter. This is still clearly young as the acidity has some sting to it and slightly dominates the palate. Even so, there is great length and poise with balance across the nose and palate that show off just how good this is and can be.

  • I know that this is SUPER young, but I was very excited to open this and taste the energy that I knew would get my heart racing. I ended up just having a single glass on night one, because the wine was so tightly wound that I worried that I would spend the entire evening trying to coax the wine out of its shell. I opened the bottle back up two days later and WOW! Talk about a massive change, this wine is something special.
Night one notes of lime zest and peach skin on a reserved nose and a palate of chalky minerality with slightly bitter notes followed by a super long and tangy finish.
With time to stretch its legs, this was transformed on night three into a gorgeous wine with beautiful florality, sweet herbs, a touch of smoke, and ripe white peach. I was so drawn to the pure pleasure and beauty that this wine showed, just incredible stuff.
What this winery is doing these days is remarkable, it seems like in a matter of only a few years they have taken a meteoric rise and become one of the top producers in not only the Nahe, but all of Germany.

  • Quite waxy for such a young GG, chalky and grippy but not very precise in its aromatics, long but a bit dull?

  • Crystalline flavors of peach, tangerines, lime, and wet stones. As expected, lots of tension in the wine at first - after 3+ hours open, the wine relaxed a bit and the tropical fruits became more expressive.
