Beautiful Chardonnay, elegant and powerful at the same time, nose of apples, pears, lemon, vanilla, spice, perfect acidity to balance fruit, long lingering finish, crowd pleaser

Both in the nose and on the palate, a very pronounced bitter element. I thought that made it interesting, but others were quick to reject it because of that.

Slow ox in bottle for 30 min to pair with oysters. If did it again I’d decant for even more air. Took plenty of time to open, ultimately yielding lychee, plenty of passion fruit, lemon, and a good deal of salinity. Later vanilla and tangerine peel? Palate showed Med+ acidity. A tannic bitterness on the back side. I found this wine exceptionally austere in its relatively young age. Can drink now, but can (and should) cellar for many years.

A little quiet at first despite double decanting but starting to come alive in the glass after about 30 minutes. Charred pineapple, lemon, sea spray, tangerine peel on the nose. On the palate there’s real oak presence, but it’s not overwhelming. Additional notes of ginger, pineapple core, coconut, and a strong note of slate on the mid-palate to the finish. At least a few years too young to be at its peak but this is still a real pleasure today.

Nutmeg and sweet vanillin aroma. Oaky, vanilla entry on the palate dominates which almost hides everything else. The wine is still too young. Excellent length and great potential. Needs 4-5 more years of age.
