opened up to go with pasta and red sauce, and it was exactly what I wanted. The acid was a perfect match, but some fruit brightness and ripeness showed through, running the spectrum from strawberry darker down the line. Wish this was made more frequently or in more quantity, alas my list of the 17’s.

Opened about an 90 minutes before pouring first glasses. Wine’s color was not as rich as I perhaps expected, but still a dark crimson with ruby edges that is quite striking. Nose immediately provides lots of dark fruit notes, cherry, plum and blackberry leading the way. Secondary aromas include an interesting mixture of fresh & dried florals or leaves. On the palate the strong acidity is immediately clear, dark fruit follows through with some additional vanilla & nutmeg spice flavors on the end of the palate. Perhaps the cherry is a bit more tart on the palate than I would have expected and transitioned to more of a cranberry over a couple hours of enjoyment. Perhaps a more subdued wine than expected, but excellent with a meal. . Not a ton of information out there on this one. If I remember correctly, this was an oddities made that wasn’t originally released, but one bottle was made available to the mailing list not too far back. Unsure of other vintages, but never gonna complain about something unique. Starting to see more Barbera in CA especially in those cooler regions, had a rose with it recently even.

Opened for an hour (no decant). Bright fruit and acid on nose and palate. Light-medium body with some depth. Tart cherry on finish with the addition of cranberry after an additional hour. Despite the prominent acid, the wine maintained good balance.

Ready to go on PnP. Not a big Barbera drinker, but this was a nice weekday drink.
