Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 90.6 points

  • Strawberry is most prominent on the nose, with clay and some other Celestial Seasonings flavored tea that i cant discern. As others note, acidity was a bit strong at first but after two hours the wine has mellowed out.Tannins are more obvious than in many Brunello's but it allows this to pair with moo cow dishes that are on the lighter side.

Have one more bottle I picked up at the winery, which I'll hold till 2026 or beyond for comparison purposes.

  • The Wine is well made but still Young - acidity and tannins are both medium+ -acidity is abit dominating the overall balance - the fruit is cherries, cranberries and hints of red currants - I am also getting raw leather - not a very Long aftertaste - I Will keep my next bottle for a couple of years - still Think the Wine deserves solid 92. I Think there is more to come.

  • Ripe red berries, underbrush, fennel seed, minimal tar, and a subtle Asian spice note on the nose. Has a lush vibe on the nose. The palate has more ripe fruit and plush-ish mouthfeel, has a bit of oak-driven vanilla on the end of the palate towards the finish. Definitely giving and open now, not super challenging, and maybe not quite as much structure — but tasty and not in a bad way.

  • Not as lively as the first bottle I had of this

  • Very deep dark ruby. A plummy nose with a bit of spice and black pepper, dry underbrush, espresso and red cherries. In the mouth, no hard edges. Rounded, mellow and developed. A little soft. The product older, large format oak - I understand - and certainly drinking like it. Decent acidity. Good fruit concentration. Fruit forward. Not complex. Cherries and mainly red berries and plums - some dried - with dry undergrowth and tilled, dry soil. An enjoyable but fairly straightforward Sangiovese. Drink from now until around 2025.
