  Tasted alongside Christophe Baron's Hors Categorie 2015. Both were absolutely perfect wines of absolutely opposite styles. Hors Categorie was a perfect expression of Northern Rhone syrahs. Metaphora was as perfect an expression of Napa cabernet as I've tasted. Its dark garnet, opaque, with no hints of amber edge. The aroma is incredibly powerful, of raspberries and dark cherries mixed with blackberries and plums. There is both sweet and toasted oak, a hint of leather and earth. On the palate, incredibly concentrated, sweet red and black fruits, packed with fruit flavors, but extremely smooth, soft, and sweet, with no tannin, bitterness, or heat. The balance is impeccable. It slides into a gorgeous, extremely long, concentrated but sweet aftertaste.
  These were two of the best wines I've tasted, and to have them together at a wonderful restaurant was an amazing experience!
