Not always a fan of unblended mourvedre but this is very enjoyable. Dense purple to black in the glass. Nice core of fruit, relatively low in acidity. Showing a bit of heat from the 15.9% ABV. Drinking very well now.

Chocolate, leather and forest floor. Very little red fruit and just a hint of raspberry. Big, layered, full bodied with strong, well integrated tannin that lasts. This is a more serious approach than Paso Robles often offers, with a restrained level of extraction and expectation that this will only improve with age. Decanted for two hours, and would recommend three hours next time or to leave it be for at least a few more years. Good for a fireside dinner party with close friends…Needs to be enjoyed with red meat or charcuterie. 8/10

I’m not sure if I’ve had a 100% Mourvèdre before, but this was delicious. Layers of rich flavors snd fruit. Nice balance. Opened up nicely over a few hours.

Rich and expressive with deep dark fruited core and hint of leather and spice on the finish. Still quite young.

Good dark fruit, rich, concentrated. Typical Epoch.
