A good value. Surprisingly high acidity, bright red fruit, some tannin. We had one bottle that was decanted for an hour or two and one straight from opening, and the decanted wine had an extra layer of smoky tobacco flavor.

I like this wine. It has character and typicity. Lots of red fruit and roasted red bell pepper. Some acidity that keeps things fresh, sweet pipe tobacco, leather. Tannins that would make it a great barbecue wine.

Nose of blackcurrants, morello cherry compote, black pepper, cinnamon and almonds. Ripe fruit flavours of blackcurrants and stewed plums; lovely balanced tannins that don't overpower.
This was a bottle branded as Fortnum & Mason Stellenbosch Red 2017, but the bar code and details on the label identify it as Meerlust Red 2017.

Refined and elegant. Sweet, ripe black fruit with cedar on the nose. Sweet tannins with spice integrated beautifully.
