Nose: Subtle caramel and buttered popcorn aromas with hints of flowers and pear. Palate: Nice firm acidity with pear flavors and an almost grapefruit/Sauv Blanc-like finish. Very lush mouthfeel. This wine has an ideal balance of crisp acid and fruit. Clean finish with no flaws.
My first Pinot Gris from this producer. I have had many of their Pinot Noirs. I can see now why Pinot Gris is their biggest selling wine. It is the best domestic Pinot Gris I have had (although Alsace is still the prime region for this varietal in my opinion). Bravo to this small artisan producer for this effort. Highly recommended!
