  • Generous on the nose, with cherry notes predominant in its youth. The palate landed flat for me, mid palate did not hold up and bitter finish

  • Drank along side the 2018 Oliver's Blend barrel sample and a 2015 Olivers Blend out of the bottle. No rating for me on this one, just was too young and out of sorts to give it a proper rating. Here are my notes...

Dark purple in color. The nose is very rocky and lots of minerals, almost a dirty smell - no hints of fruit that I could pick up at all. In the mouth, wow… this is a tannic monster. One of the most powerful wines I have ever tasted, very dry right now from the young tannins. I admittedly do not have a lot of experience tasting wines this young from barrel samples… So its hard to comment on how this wine will be from bottle. Lots of power in this one for sure, just needs to balance out and integrate those tannins. Looking forward to trying again in 3-4 years.
