  • Opened and did not decant, which was an oversight in the throes of meal prep. Disjointed on day 1... boysenberry and cured olives on the nose, heavy alcohol on the palate and slightly bitter tannins to finish. Was to pair with the lamb shank while the barbaresco played with the veal, but it yielded the stage. Harmonized well on day 2 after an overnight. Same notes plus some violet and herbs came out to play. Will let the next bottle rest until 2024 and give it some air.

  • I should really have tried to give this beauty a few more years but grilling lamb calls for syrah! What a nose violets, blue fruits, dark wet stone minerals, hint of vanilla, l really generous palate with a big tannic grip on the mid palate, slight bitter feel towards the long finish
