One of the strangest noses I’ve encountered, smelled of tomatoes amongst other unsavory smells. The palate is just all over the place no congruency to the wine buttery at times acidic at others. Maybe past it’s prime. Not corked since it was a twist off. Leaves an after taste of half burned Marlboro lights.
If one likes big bold Chardonnays with lots of buttery notes, this will likely tick all the boxes. Alas, my palate has somewhat evolved this year, and I prefer a more balanced and less oaky heavy-handed approach, so I wasn't such a fan.. Its good nevertheless with the right dishes, just not on its own!
Golden apple and heavy butter notes greeted my palate, and the density seemed to grow as this Napa Chard opens up in the glass too.
The French oak barrels fermentation and lees stirring seems a touch much!
Thanks to bro L for this gift, which I popped and shared back with him upon his return from his flight, and dinner with RL and WHs families too.

½ bottle, lighter than previous, little flavor. Didn't hold to 2nd night.

Some oak, good with smoked salmon potato soup, bit heavy to drink alone.
