At le Pavillon in NYC. Bright, airy red fruits, leather and forrest floor notes. An airy mouthfeel, lifted, fresh red fruits, with good depth of flavors, and an iron note. Good finish, chalky and fresh, quite long, at peak, a very good surpirse. Very enjoyable fully mature burg from an underdog terroir.

Very good, classic red Burgundy. This should be decanted and allowed to breathe (which I did not do). After all, it has been corked and trapped in glass for since the last century! It really showed its best second day. Out of the bottle it was a changeling. First sip it seemed like a very young wine, crisp and sassy. Then every succeeding sip would show a different dimension, one after the other, in disaggregated succession. The promise of a lot more was there. The second day, after having been corked and cellared for the night, was most gratifying. The mature cherry fruit, sandalwood, mushroom and forest floor had integrated with the silky tannins into a creamy texture. Very good. I believe this wine has many years more and is just now in its mature drinking window. Good thing I have four more bottles.

A bit of stewed fruit, almost tasted slightly heat damaged although I think the wine was showing correctly. Elegant and classy, but not super fresh.
