Deep ruby color with slow legs. Cassis, new oak, blackberry and some floral on the nose. Plum, gooseberry and tobacco on the palate. Long leathery finish.

Pop and pour at a restaurant and gave no time to decant, and was served in the “house” glassware. Fragrant nose with some fruit up front. Black plum, currant, with some menthol. Tannins are polished and smooth. The finish is short and tight. Paired with a classic prime rib dinner. Would buy again at the right price, or if shopping for for Merlot

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (EBCC): Double blind. Garnet color. Plum, cedar, dark berry fruit and spice notes. Abundant red fruit on the palate with spice and chocolate accents. Medium tannins. Domino thought this may have been corked, but she is more sensitive than the rest of us. At various moments I sort of got a hint of something and I could see what she picked up, but I wasn't entirely certain and never went back to this to see if it became more obviously corked. (V&M)

Pretty good, but better the second day when we found it to be smoother.
