  • Not sure what is going on here but whatever is supposed to be going on, to my palate, isn't going on. Holds the house style of being rather boring.

  • Beautiful saddle leather nose. Very open. Palate more wound up but opened to morelo cherry and leather. I wish the finish was a touch longer but this is drinking beautifully. 93

  • Bright ruby colour, medium bodied, elegant, smooth and polished fresh plum and cherry berry fruits with hints of licorice, mocha, fresh cloves and baking spices, with velvety mouthfeel with a persistent lingering soft sweet oak laced tannin finish.

  • Nice aromas of pine forest floor and fresh needles, pressed flowers, cherry cough drops as well as baked black cherries spices with rosemary, sage and thyme. Quite full bodied and rich with enveloping/caressing tannin, raisins, ripe black cherries thrown on a hot grill for 30 seconds and blood orange. This is really elegant and quite delicious. The tannin is very well resolved (but very present) for such a young Barolo. Excellent! I see the reforms put into place in 2012 have paid handsome dividends! Drink now-2030 93

  • Barolo Crus - A Date with The MGAs Zoom tasting. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of earth and salty stones minerality, licorice, red plums, sour red cherries. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, fine lightly chewy high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet licorice, soft red plums, sour red cherries, savoury earth, salty wet stones minerality. Long graceful finish..
Very good quality. Nice gentle pleasant Barolo. Ageing along well.
From the Brunella MGA in the commune of Castiglione Falletto, next to the Villero MGA. Brunella is a monopole of Boroli.
