So I received a gift of Blackbox Chardonnay. The equivalent of six bottles in two boxes! I think they were making fun of me, but I have been drinking it since before Christmas. Not a bad wine and sure is easy to keep in the fridge. Finally, yesterday it's gone. Time to open this Kosta Browne. Wow! It's like being a virgin again—so much concentration, depth, length, width, and I began to sing:
It feels like the first time. (It feels like the very first time) Don'tcha know it feels (It feels like the first time) Oh yeah, it feels like the first time (It feels like the very first time)
It probably only a 94, but it felt like 100.

The reticent nose offers aronas of creme brûlée, pineapple, mango and green apple. Medium bodied with a structure that shows some oak influence and combines juicy acid with a mean streak of slate minerality. The flavor profile is pure and clean, featuring sweet Meyer lemon, white tea, tangerine, honeysuckle, white peach, green apple and a nice dose of sea salt. This took a few hours to evolve out of an initially oak-driven profile, but after that complexities and levity began to show. The vintage shows a lot of promise for a very young vineyard, and could stand another 3-5 years of age to fully develop.

Bright fruit with notes of citrus, pear, apple with good acidity and balance. Satisfying finish.
