  • 1 day air in bottle already. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of cream peach, apricot, honeydew melon, ripe citrus lemon, saline minerality. Bit of flint reduction on fresh pour. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, good high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.7%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe fruits - cream peach, apricot, ripe citrus honey lemon, tropical fruit like honeydew melon and starfruit, salty saline minerality and limestone. Sweet nutty toast oak appears to be an afterthought only. Long persistent mouth-filling finish with slight waxy feel.
Very good quality. Expertly done Chardonnay where there is ripeness of fruit without compromise of acidity, and oak is present but not a dominant feature even at this young age.

  • It was a pleasant surprise as I had not known this wine before. It is enjoyable, rich and fatty on the palate, with a nice balance of acidity. I would not have thought this was a Santenay. Ready to drink but will keep.

  • After decanting and drinking at about 55 F, this showed Med+ body, nice fruit and balancing acidity.

  • Nice little patio sipper. Punches above it's weight. Easy drinking and ready to go now. Mild reduction, some lemon, under ripe tropical fruit with saline core.

  • Saturday evening, pairing it with a white barramundi fish. Medium gold Color. A lot of roasted pineapple, orange, lichi on the nose, nice minerality, tainted smoke, white pepper, a bit of cream. Med acidity, Med body, Med alcohol, Med flavor intensity, Med+ finish. Nice and exotic fruit, smoke and pepper, I really like this roasted and smoked aspect that keeps lingering in the after taste. This is a perfectly nice drinking wine now, I like it !
