  • There's a lot going on here, and maybe it will all come together with time. But for now, this is disjointed and seems overoaked. I know Magrez is a wizard, but will this prove magic or illusion?

  • Smoky, with a touch of chocolate, licorice, espresso, spice and black cherries on the nose and palate come through quickly. Round, lush and polished with a richly textured, fleshy, dark plum, coffee, dark chocolate covered cherry finish, give it a few years of age to start to show its best. Drink from 2024-2037.

  • A merchant who has received from the Magrez Estates a set of 2019 EP wines in a lovely box with 0.375 bottles organized this tasting. Overall the vintage showed very well, reminiscent of 2009 or 2015. TN: Nice nose with dark fruit and some earthy scents. Not over-extracted volume wise but the tannins are drying unfortunately.

  • Reasonably deep coloured; dark fruit on the nose with violets, hint of liquorice and something a little exotic, not as expressive as Turkish Delight but something akin to that; quite closed up and foursquare on the palate. Good density and weight though. Nose suggests good promise here. Quite savoury at present on the palate.
