A merchant who has received from the Magrez Estates a set of 2019 EP wines in a lovely box with 0.375 bottles organized this tasting. Overall the vintage showed very well, reminiscent of 2009 or 2015. TN: Hmm, really a wine from the Parker era. Rich ripe, already tired and oxidative. Nobody liked this one. Why do they still make wines like this?

Smells pretty ambitious, oaky, dense, Violet-tinged ripe fruits; good volume, seems to carry the oak rather well. Lots of concentrated fruit here. Pretty powerful stuff. Char and chocolate oak on the finish. Quite a Napa style. Could lack refreshment in time.

Dark, almost inky in color, the full-bodied, concentrated, rich, intense and equally dense wine is loaded to the gills with layer after layer of voluptuous, opulent, ripe dark fruits, chocolate and licorice. Long and mouth-filling, this wine is decadence in a glass. A blend of 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Franc. 94-96 Pts
