Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Put this out for Duck Taco Night for those who like white wine with their duck. After buying one of these more or less by mistake (thought I was grabbing a 2nd chardonnay for my father, pleasant surprise since I'm not a Cali chard drinker), I bought a case, so you know what I think. This is a richer white, definitely some of that roussanne. I get the petrol notes, but also a lemon creme taste. Don't drink it too cold, and you'll enjoy it more.

    love the label
served too cold initially and yet

nada nose, something like I imagine fake flowers to smell like...

    ah. a petroleum quality

(don't fuckin @ me riesling snobs)

    high viscosity, high acidity.
to put in plain terms the roussanne in this blend made the other varietals its bitch and while I like to see Viognier put in its place, it seemed like they were working together to tag team the other varietals in this wine

Oh yeah, and notes of intense yellow grapefruit, dried apple, wafts of Top Nail from down the street if you know what I mean.

At this point, notably oxidized which is not unexpected for whites of this age and general price point.
    Would not buy again.
Did find that eating prosciutto simultaneously distracted from the oxidation. Not to say anything about why so many Italians enjoy pairing prosciutto with Italian varietals.
