  a year later, even better, classier, drier, structure more detectable, the usual (cedar, tobacco, dark berries) tastiness w a slight spine of bare graphite
  
  only criticisms might be that it lacks a little heft and weight, but who cares at the balance, the price, and the expensive finish ?
  
  had w barbecued ground lamb (sauced); the wife simply pronounced, 'Fine.'

  Something was off. Weird aftertaste. Corked? No idea but neither me nor my wife enjoyed this and we love Bordeaux wines.

  yay, the new costco 'christmas' red pack is here already, this year all bordeaux, good value if any good at all, and this one thus far has a yummy burr accent to it on first tasting; more note tk, plus on the other three casemates
  
  finished and no complaints, balanced and classic-finishing in the new bargain dry bordeaux style
  
  are we entering a golden age of better value from bordeaux?
  
  I am remiss in not posting the writeup (from the label on the back of the nice costco oak box, which makes great kindling and also has v useful hard-foam shims):
  
  10% cab, 5% cab fr, ditto malbec, the rest merlot, like all of these wines

  The color is concentrated and youthfully radiant. A delicate spicy aroma of ripe dark fruit precedes a supple soft attack that leads into freshness and fruit. The palate is smooth and generous, enveloped w polished tannins.
