Picked this up at auction, not expecting much, and was blown away for a Vine Cliff Napa-generic bottle of perfectly aged California Cabernet. At 27 years on the vintage, still showing tons of cassis and blackberry fruit, not a hint of oxy or Brett, and a lovely, silky tannic integration, it was a memorable pairing for a well-grilled choice Porterouse. No bricking in color, clear halo, and subtle aromas led to a terrific experience. Makes us wish we had more patience and a larger cellar in our earlier years! Maybe still 4-5 years left on the bottle if well-stored.

Offered great promise initially with a very expressive nose of extracted fruit. But unfortunately the palate is relatively flat and featureless. A shame but waited a little too long.

Maya+3 other Cabernets (Hi-Time Wine Cellars, Costa Mesa, Ca.): Well balanced, fruity, intense nose of currants and berrys, red/plum in the glass, very fruity, well balanced, nearly elegant taste, long, rich, intense finish.
