  • Around 100 year old dry-farmed vines on “trumao” soil, which is the local name for the black volcanic ash soil in the foothills of the Itata Valley. The winemaker is Leonardo Erazo, who also produces Rogue Wine and works for Altos las Hormigas in Mendoza. Natural production, native yeasts, minimal sulfites, minimal intervention. 14 months in indigenous Rauli wood. Takes 10-15 minutes to open up, revealing lots of minerality on the nose and palate. Dark fruit. Low-acid. A little spice and licorice. Chalky tannins.

  • This one didn’t do too much for us. Dark fruits, a little on the heavy side and didn’t hold up well over múltiple nights.

  • The wine looks inky colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like forest floor and petrol. The body is medium/full. The wine has coarse texture. The wine has medium acidity. Funky and weird, but not all in a bad way,. Assertive tannins that are offset by a slight effervescence. Improved with aeration and definitely needs bold food. Could benefit from slight chilling.
