Amber, slightly cloudy appearance. Nose of oranges, sultans, creme caramel and baked apple. The palate is super sweet, tarte tartin and sugared and candied dried fruit and chocolate caramel too. Acidity is there for sure but it feels slightly out of balance for a classical sweet wine. However for the price, from the Wine Society, it’s worth every penny.

Yes indeed - liquid tarte tatin. Very good wine and amazing it is only 11%. But choose your pudding - the raisins and prune dominate, unsurprisingly, so keep it for the tarte tatin and don't even think about it with red fruit. Might do a manchego or a comté? There's a thought.... but i didn't try that.

Beautiful wine, sweet but fresh, very concentrated apricot, lovely stuff!

Dark amber colour. Intense aromas of wood varnish, raisins and pecan. Toffee, caramel and baked apple follow through on palate. Syrupy.

Seriously sweet, intense marmalade flavours, a hint of sweet spice and star anise. Twenty years old but no hurry. Excellent value.
