  • Very Good+
I really liked this, a very nice Loire take on California Cab Franc. I got some capsicum, a little chili pepper, a green thread running through it, with good, lean read fruits. I'm a fan of the direction here, but perhaps it would have benefited from just a touch more California hang time. This would pair with any dish you'd pair with a classic bistro Loire Cab Franc. Nice.

  • I forgot to take notes on day one, so this is from day two. Nose is tawny fruit (dried fig, plum, fruit leather). The cab franc pyrazines are there, but it comes across as more of a CA garrigue: wild thyme, brush, hot wind, and I guess a little bell pepper. The palate is more fruit forward: cranberry, dried fig, a little orange peel, rooibos. The herbal character is relegated to the finish. This comes across as a cab franc first and a CA wine second. Will hold for sure, but why not drink it now?

  • Medium ruby. Cherries and cranberries on the nose. On the palate medium alcohol, high acidity, medium tannin. Sour cranberries herbal and earthy notes, hay and wet leaves. Long finish. Good but thin.

  • 6-14-21. Some hints of a Loire wine, but really its own species with integrated tannins, background acidity and nuanced red/blue fruit that has overtones of oh, I don’t know what. Quite intriguing, but not enough to make me buy more, even at its reduced $20 price. 91 points

  • Clear ruby with slight orange edges medium opacity. Medium plus intensity on the nose with dark red fruits, dust, hay, floral, tire, orange and a touch of cookie. The palate was red fruits tinged with orange, medium acidity, soft, silky tannins on the front palate. Medium intensity and body with a medium plus finish. Very good.
