Dark brick red. Holding its color well. Raw beef and sea breeze on the nose mixed with violets and ripe plum fruit. Easy going and soft palate. Good flavor saturation. A “girl next door” kind of wine: not immediately beautiful, but has got soul, is easy to like. A perfect everyday Bordeaux. The ‘97’s are showing well this week. (88)

mogan's bottle. popped, decanted and drank over 2+ over a nice dinner... nose: stage 1, good cassis/black-currant grip. stage 2, bit grassy then opening up to more mineral peppery fruits. left bank. stage 3, now.. i was expecting the slight creamy and powdery sweetness to apprear, which it did, but fleetingly so.. the last stage of the nose was the bad part in this wine. inconsistent. the fruit comes and goes. sometimes sourness shows. sometimes its the alcohol level. non-linear nose.... the palate and mouthfeel was better. initially short, it did gain some weight after settling down. mid in length. tannic, but gets more settled over time, finishing it a slight jammy note... this '97 still feels youthful now, but i feel when it goes down, it may go down fast... morgan bought 2 btls at a good price. i mentioned that his other '97 btl, drink say 3 yrs later. don't get anymore. spend that kind of price on greener pastures.

Still drinkable but past its time. Losing its body and after taste. After taste short not much left not long to go

Robe rubis clair. Nez très animal. Bouche riche et tanins encore charpentés.
