Nice to try a French Colombard; its been years. Nice and crisp sort of a cross between Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. Lots of acidity.
French Colombard was once heavily planted in Napa and parts Sonoma, but that was along time ago. Nowadays, I mostly hear of Colombard in old vine vineyards as part of a field blend. Don't know the origins of this bottling maybe it was planted on purposes or sourced separately.
(Served nicely with Mustardy Apple Butter–Glazed Pork Chops (source: Cooks), Swiss chard, and rice.)
