  • PnP. This screams Rocks AVA. So distinctive with notes of game, bacon fat, pepper and violet aromatics. Really yummy. Quite extracted but all in balance. I think this is drinking a point, but I see the producer thinks this should be held for a few more years to come into its peak drinking window. I have two more bottles and will hold off a few more years before opening another. This AVA is truly the most unique in the US.

  • Really good. PnP kinda shocked how wide open this was at all of 5 years old. New world heat peaking thru detracted me from scoring this higher.

I get the feeling these will not age well. Tannins already integrated after 5 years. How is this possible? Oh, because there aren't any.

Really nice syrah with echos of a modern Cote Rotie. Although lets face it, this will never reach that class. Idiots crank up the alcohol too high which detracts from the terroir and overall pleasure. I'd be curious how this drinks in 10 years, actually maybe not as it will probably start to fall apart.

Addendum: put remainder of the decanter back in the bottle, about 2 glasses. here it is next day ...still a bit of alcohol on the finish which detracts from the experience. Very rich, probably more so yet less fruit than last night. Same rating, if not 92. Probably could age a few years, perhaps to see if any improvement, but overall i can't see this being a blockbuster, ever, regardless of cellar time.

  • Multi dimensional Syrah. Some have said more Hermitage than Rotie but I could put this right up there with some of the modern, lieu diet styles from Cote Rotie. Amazing wine.
