1/6, good cork. Decanted then served. Beautiful, bright ruby, almost crimson robe, with pale ruby rim. Lovely pure fruited nose - raspberries, florals waft from the glass, a sense of soil, smoke and perhaps liquorice too. Medium bodied, finely chiselled with pure crushed raspberry fruit, elegant with very fine tannins, almost weightless, fresh/vibrant acids carry a decent length lightly grippy finish. Compelling in its purity, almost burgundian. Outstanding.

Felix's birthday celebration: A strange nose that elicited descriptors like mothball, and my personal contribution of armpit amongst others. Structured and savoury, not as elegant as more recent efforts. Guessed late-2000s Giacosa. His Barbarescos are a clear step up from the Barolos in my opinion.

No note made. Seemed very accessible and ready to drink now.

Charming but definitely a lighter weight vintage. Does not have much depth. Feels accessible now.

Drunk alongside a Pira VV 2011 which was a different level. The 2014 is a lovely glass but Is simple and less defined in comparison to the VV.
