Dark ruby colour. Black currant, cherry, raspberry, blackberry, light vegetal notes, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, tobacco, spices, and light balsamic notes, with lightly pronounced acidity, medium(+) tannin that still needs some time, and good length. The alcohol is lightly warming. The wine started angular, and showed better integration after about an hour of aeration. More mature on day two, balsamic and leathery, with tobacco and pronounced acidity. Still, it left me a little disappointed, I had expected more in all aspects.

Tasted during The Wine Society's Warwick Estate Trilogy Vertical Tasting. This is cabernet franc led. I'm undecided at the moment, I think it's too young and needs a few more years. Score 85.
Tasting repeated a few days later with fresh wine: What a revelation! This is so much better than the sample tasted a few days earllier. Smooth and silky. Developing wonderfully in the glass. Excellent. Score 91.

Big big big. Lasted for three days with chocolate, steak and chocolate. Big alcohol day one. Well balanced day two. Dominant blackberry by day three. Expensive for the region but good QPR for the spectrum of wine.
