  • Diam5 cork - somewhat unexpected as owner says wine can keep 10-15 years. Nice very dark red-purple colour. Upon pulling the cork, black fruit filled the room. Blackberry, bread, black cherry, black grape skins are found on the nose. On the palate, the attack is frank, with lots of tannin (coffee flavoured) followed by the fruit and a touch of tar. The tannin is really dominant today making it hard to see the fruit behind. A rather good length on the tannin. I'd say the dominant varieties this year are Cabernet and Syrah. Certainly not a wine to drink on its own today.

With a rare meat, this blossoms to a dark berry elixir. I still think this needs 4-5 years, but with the right food, it has a good potential. No score today, but I'd say likely in the ballpark of a 90-91 with upward potential. Next not before 2025.

On day three, very pure aromas of cassis and blueberry as well as added vanilla and violet. I think this will be a beauty in 4+ years.
