Still alive and still beautiful. One of the single best cab francs to ever come from Napa Valley. Still lots of secondary fruit and a remarkable mouthfeel. With no hint of any green at all.

Method: bottle in fridge 30 minutes prior to opening; pop and pour; Cab glass
Look: medium slightly muddy garnet-ruby with faint bricking
Nose: bell pepper, cigar box, light forest floor, dried cherry, dried raspberry, pencil shavings; great, serious, nose
Palate: dried cherry, underripe blackberry, graphite; long finish of graphite, minerals, light forest floor, pencil shavings; dry; medium body; medium+ very fine tannin; medium+ acidity
Overall thoughts: Great, complex and serious nose. Somewhat mature on the palate with more dried fruit and nice earthy note, along with serious, but welcomed structure from really nice, fine tannins. 91 - 92 points. Great wine.

Wines with 25+ Years Non-Blind (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Ashy nose, mineral, yeast, doughy, red fruit, herb, fleshy and fat on the palate, dusty, a touch awkward, chocolate on the finish, malty; a nice wine but tough stacking up in the context of the first 2 in the flight.

Nose: cigar box, black pepper, blackberry, wood chips, dry forest floor, brownie, smoke
Palate: smoke, cigar box, dark cherry; high - acidity, tart; med + body, very silky; nice tannins
Overall: it’s good but too acidic/tart for me

Still surprisingly fruit forward for this level of age. Very enjoyable wine, and will continue to be for some time.
