The Sandlands Grenache and Trousseau are, in my opinion, their two best wines. After laying my only bottle down for a few years, I was making lamb and decided today was the day.
Did not get a pepper I expected from a Grenache. This was slightly herbal, almost an oolong or black tea while still having deep fruit and good body. Nothing particularly spectacular but as a whole this was amazing. This was so easy to drink, and amazing with food, but at the same time there was plenty to think about for the times I paid attention.
Could go a few more years, but for me this was in a great place and I wish I had more.

Bright ruby color, nose of cranberry and nutmeg but the palate explodes with juicy sweet cherry and strawberry, quite expansive and gulpable. Tannins could soften a bit but I’m being picky now. This is delicious. We drained the bottle in no time flat.

Full of forest berries on the nose and palate. Palate reminds me of eating blackberries fresh off the vine in varying stages of ripeness. A little tart cranberry. Soft tannins. Reminiscent of a floral “tea” infusion.

PnP, clear ruby color, this had nice, balanced fruit and acidity. Easy to drink on its own, also went just fine with some roasted salmon and veggies with chimichurri. Had some leftover for a second night and it was still drinking well, so no hurry on drinking these. Will easily hold for another 5-7 years.

Needed lots of air to soften up a bit, as the wine was very tight on night 1. Nice light flavor profile but a bit difficult on its own.
Night 2 - much more filled out with better mouth feel and more body.
