Excellent. Consumed over two nights, and had gained integration on the 2nd night. Very classy Hawkes Bay Chardonnay, with finesse and balance that is hard to find even on more expensive Chardonnay from the region.

Previous reviewers’ comments spot on. A real crowd pleaser - actually a family pleaser at a birthday meal at Le Pont de la Tour - with some similarity to Maté’s Vineyard, although lacking its finesse.

Tasted next to the Kumeu Rays Road 2020. Herbal, fragrant nose, toasty oak that sticks out next to the Kumeu. Fuller bodied palate, ripe yellow fruit, much riper and broader than the Kumeu, much more oaky, creamy, lots of toasty spices on the finish. Certainly good but preferred the Kumeu in all regards. Drink now. 16.5/20

100% MLF Some reductive smoke; very concentrated and intense citrus oils and wood, something floral too. Sense of freshness and tension, and ripeness.
The palate is pretty creamy, some toast and lees flavours, stimulating concentration from the skins; mealy and layered. Citrus oils, real pow-pow, but delicacy too. Long and fine.

Over 2 days. Muted nose when cold, very mineral, subtle yellow fruits. As the temperature goes up, a touch of caramel appears, with more exotic fruits, but remain subtle. the palate is very clean, chalky almost steely, long, mid weight. good now but with potential to improve. i would give it another 4 years to blossom
