  • much smoother this time around, very good finish, tannins smoothed out more as we enjoyed the bottle with a nice grilled strip loin.

  • Very dark purple/red. Ripe fruit typical for carmenere (reminds me of sweet red peppers and blackberries), significant spicy oak. On the palate likewise, rather big and concentrated with some "bite" and (good) bitterness, but also a round, somewhat creamy mouthfeel (like dark chocolate). Oak a little bit too much for me, but not bad. Good now, but might still improve over the next year or perhaps even two. Excellent QPR at 9 euro as a simpler, less balanced and concentrated version of the Terrunyo.

Stored in the fridge, and tried again after 3 and 5 days. Seems like the wine improved, everything coming together now. Rich aftertaste, over 30 seconds. I think this wine will improve over the next 1-2 years. 88-89 points.

  • Typical of the variety, hints of cherry and a little earthy on the nose. Nose was not as distinctive as some other Carmeneres I have had. First taste was very nice good tannins and a nice long finish more plum than cherry. A definite repeat perhaps with another six months to a year in the cellar

  • Leather, blood and spices in the bouquet. The wine is juicy and full bodied. Very ripe cherries and cassis. Good and soft oak accompany the fruity flavours in a pleasant way. Full bodied a lot of bitterness and firm tannin. Not really elegant, but a mouth full of wine.

  • This is actually the first Carmenere that you could use the word 'elegant' to describe it, it was definitely the baby brother of the 'Block 27' Terrunyo bottling, this is a great QPR - This was extremely dark, well concentrated with notes of big plum, chocolate, mocha, cedar and vanilla on the nose, once again elegant, well structured with a nice long finish, well done! (91 Points).
