Reductive on the nose with asphalt, rubber, new leather, red cherry, strawberry, potpourri and bacon grease Lots of tension here between fruit and non fruit. Darker fruits on the palate - black cherries and blueberries, dried herbs, potpourri as well as white pepper and an intense saline note. Noticably less reductive on the palate than the nose. Medium bodied with medium + lingering tannins and a blast on salt on the finish.
Fuller bodied than Etna Rosso of comparable age. Decent; but not amazing, pairing with seared goose breast.

4 hour decant, first time with the producer or grape. Nose is full of tar, earth and cherry. Follows through on first sip. Dark cherry, tons of tar, loads of acid. Probably just way too young, but not super enjoyable for me right now.

A more soil than fruit driven nose with iron, tar, dark berry and cherry fruit, anise, and rare game. It's full bodied, yet with good acidity keeping it balanced. Youthfully stern at first, it opens up over several hours. It still remains iron and black soil more than dark fruit driven with some subtle balsam notes. Finishes with anise on the back end. A structured, firm wine with a lot going on, that at this point is quite impressive, but lacks a little charm. Finishes quite long. I suspect this could develop more and settle into itself with some more bottle age. If I had another bottle, I would hold for another 5 plus years. Impressive but this is not the time to drink this. 90?

Darker and slightly richer than your average Etna.

Flowers, damp earth, cherry and cranberry, mineral, bright acid, fine grippy tannin
