A thin silver lining to the cloud if COVID lockdown . BA could not use it so TWS snapped this lovrly deep fruited Corbieres for a song . Still singing lovely Grenache ,Syrah ,Carignan blend. Business class flyers loss was the gain of the rest of us.

Delicious dark cherry fruit seasoned with wood and spice and underpinned with some pleasing soft tannins. I liked the balance, warmth and freshness but this was marred by a marked bitter note that surfaced from the mid-palate through to the finish. Frankly, this was a real disappointment after my last bottle, only proving the old adage there’s no such thing as bad wine, just bad bottles. CHP 85 pts

Perfumed suave and silky, this had liquorice and blackberry fruit flavours. Warming and spicy but superbly balanced, really sensuous and stylish. It develops well and finishes with a flourish. I bought this from the Wine Society on offer and can’t believe what a bargain it was, improving further still with cellaring. CHP 90 pts

Still soft with good dark fruit. Spice, forest fruits and damson hints developed again on the nose and palate with time and plenty of character. An honest, good value red from the Wine Society. As before, there was good, softer, fruit and fragrance next day. Still drinking well on day 3. 88+

Lovely drinking now. Smoky, blackberry and blueberry, slips down a treat. Excellent value.
