Another standout from the ever-expanding Jackson Family portfolio. Taken from multiple vineyard sites up to 2400 feet elevation, this dual-appellated wine from Sonoma County and Alex VLY shows why Napa’s neighbors to the Northeast can more than hold their weight in the Cab game.
A simple yet powerful wine that definitely takes advantage of its high elevation vines. The nose is guarded but gives off dark fruits and earth tones. The palate is plush with more complex fruit flavors and minerality but has a soft landing that you might not expect from the given terroir. A tremendous value and a wine that could easily age 5-7 more years with grace.

Nice wine, hints of green amid blackberry and cedar. Fine-grained tannins are in check. I really enjoyed this. From high altitude vineyards north of Sonoma near Skipstone.

98.5% Cabernet Sauvignon & 1.5% Petit Verdot. Aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 38% new.
Decanted an hour. Graphite, black cherry, a menthol herbaceous, tobacco, bakers chocolate, great tannin & structure.
