The wine has taken on a darker, yet still golden straw hue over the past year. The nose explodes with golden delicious apple, apple cider (in a good way), lemon meringue, a bit of orange blossom, and toasted coconut. The unctuous mouthfeel both coats then strips the palate delivering full throttle fruit but with the right acidity to leave a fresh and lively palate. As I noted a year ago, “right, deft and finishing with toast and cream.” Drink or hold. 13.5% alc. With assorted cheeses by the fire on a perfect fall evening. 11.03.23. Recommended.

Very pretty in the glass with a bright golden color, but not as deeply colored as the Durell bottling. The nose too is bright with lemon meringue, tropical notes of pineapple, orange blossom and zest all wrapped in a toasty loveliness. The palate tracks the bouquet. The mouthfeel is rich but not at all flabby. For a Loring Chard, the mouthfeel is a touch light, but this is not a lightweight Chard at all. It marries well with the pasta dishes, but does not overwhelm the mussels at all. Bright, deft and finishing with toast and cream. 13.5% alc. With mussels over spaghetti followed by baked ravioli in cider-sage sauce (pasta). 01.20.22. Recommended.

A bit citrusy and little tart but really worked well with turkey and trimmings.
