Root Day - just arrived - this is a first look at this vintage. Dark plum coloured core extending out to a reddish edge. Nose of violets, red fruit, spice and dried herbs. Medium bodied with bright acidity, showing flavours of red cherries, red flowers, red currants, oregano, and liquorice root. There’s medium tannins - fully ripe but still grippy. The finish is cranberry and red currant. Well made and just a bit astringent at the moment. That will pass over the next few months. Well done!
2nd night - Flower Day - Colour still the same. Nose is very floral and fruit forward with spice topping it off. The acidity seems much less obvious and the fruit more restrained but also more elegant. Cranberry and red currant finish is still the same but the astringency has disappeared. Even nicer tonight. 89
4th night - Leaf Day - Colour still vivid. Nose is floral and fruit forward but has diminished in intensity. However, the palate is still as intense as the second day. Lovely wine and showing it needs at least six months to settle down or requires a good four hours in a decanter to knock off some of the astringency.

Med ruby with purple hints, explosion of wild berry, blueberry yogurt, florals and vanilla on the nose. Med (+) acidity, med fine tannins, balanced, fresh, light, easy drinking and simple but really fun and enjoyable. Good wine but not complex. Great QPR.
