Still very nice, but fruit has dropped off. Really wish I opened 1 of the bottles a lot earlier. For this bottle, I should have decanted longer before enjoying. Will do next time.

Had at a friend’s house with grilled steaks and sautéed mushrooms, etc. Dark, nearly opaque garnet. Noe has a lot of mint and blackberry tea. Tannins mostly integrated with decent enough acidity to keep it lively on the tongue. Palate was pretty soft and velvety with a rich medium to full body. Flavors were like the nose plus some black plum and cassis with a touch of minerals on the fairly long finish. Really nice with the food.

I had some difficulty removing the cork and was out of gas for my Coravan. That said, I decanted and strained the bottle and tasted it. I think I missed the boat by drinking my other cabs and leaving my Lancasters behind. I taste very little fruit and a very dry and flat wine. I am going to give it an hour to open and try again.

Ok. Waited too long I think. Drank this weekend. 3 years past its window. Very off. No bouquet whatsoever. Flavor quiet dead and muted. Let it open a bit and tried again. Think it’s old or just dead. My palate is not as sophisticated as some. But definitely past it’s prime. A year ago or more probably would have been ok.
