Nigel P in Bath (Clayton’s kitchen, Bath): Rich and fat without losing its line. Quite serious. Less heady and exotic than a bottle a few months ago. Plenty of interest here, but the sort of thing one would only want a glass or two of. ****

1999 Bordeaux @ Piccolino (Piccolino, Liverpool Street Stn, London): Light gold. Far fresher and grassier on the nose. Lovely line and texture, quite fat/chewy without being flabby. Deceptively (un)weighty with good line. Several steps up from the DDC. Nose shows a little more exotically with air. ****

1999 Bordeaux at RSJ (RSJ Restaurant, Southwark): Medium straw/gold. Slightly musty on the nose, oxidation too. Slightly better on palate but musty notes are still there. Corked
