This is a VALUE wine... I added a few points for the $4.99 price tag... I found this to be acceptable and enjoyable... and for those who can't afford a better wine... a great deal.
I thought the '18 was better... excellent, for $5! Their "Petit Reserve" '19 Merlot is an enjoyable wine too, for around the same price...

simply awful - slightly oxidized nose, astringent palate with at best herbal notes, astringent finish. We drank this shortly after purchase, so this was not a matter of poor storage (by us). Sadly one of the worst TJ wines we've ever had!

I love the Trader Joe's organic wines in this series. This Cabernet is okay. Not great. Not terrible. The whites tend to be better.
Color: Medium dark ruby.
Nose: Generic currant, cassis Cabernet aromas. Sl marred by cheap oak treatment.
Pal: Medium-full body. Dry. Light tannin. No complexity (central valley grapes?) Flavors again marred by cheap oak treatment.
$6 and organically grown grapes. Passable, barely. But, come on, Trader Joe's team, you can do better than this.
***The 2019 Merlot is the best red in this series, in this vintage.***
