  • Retail $40. Under cork. When I first moved to Texas, Duchman Family Wines was one of the first producers I tried. I was not only impressed with the wines themselves but also the commitment by the winery to only release the wines when ready. For instance, this is a 2016 Tempranillo and was released a full six years after the grapes were harvested. That is rare to find outside of perhaps Champagne. Quite fruity in the glass with cassis, cranberry, and plum sharing the stage. The palate is tart, fruity, and balanced and while there are some tannins on the back end, they are supple and subtle. Very well done.
