The fruit here is a bit more dense than 251. Acidity is a bit less, but the tannins are more broad and expansive. They are similar, but definitely different wines. This is good. Look to the future for some more expansion and integration. 91-92

One the nose one gets mountain florals, maybe some blackberry. On the palate: Blackberry & tart Raspberry are framed by linear tannins at the mid-palate These tannins are soft and chalky. The wine is good and well-rounded, the chalky tannin may come from the use of neutral barrels as opposed to a lot of the ND cabs that use lots of new French oak. This Cabernet Sauvignon is still smooth despite this. Sometimes neutral barrels can impart a more lively wine, sometimes to a fault, but this wine does not suffer from that. You get some mountain minerality on the medium + finish, with more red fruit tartness on the sides of the tongue.
All in all, this is a well-rounded cabernet that leads to more of a red-fruited style, with a chalky mid-palate tannin structure, and an overall softness and delicacy.

Same as prior. 13.5 ABV, pure cabernet fruit, no oak influence, tons of structure and purity.
91-92, should go another 10 years no problem.

Pure cabernet fruit, moderately rich, and completely unadulterated by oak. Fruity. Tannins are discreet. Really enjoyed it.

Nice bottle, drinking well now, probably has a few years left. Probably going to hold my last 2 for at least a year to see what happens.
