This was the third bottle of the trio I bought for a wine tasting at my house. The first two had a funky smell which took away from the wine. This one was perfect and delicious. Go figure. The character of this wine was beautiful. Smooth as silk and a solid 90 score. Now I’m a believer in Barbara’s potential from Amador County. However, I can’t explain the funk in the other 2 bottles:(

This is a rich, big wine. Nose is bright dark fruit with a hint of earthiness. Taste starts a tad ripe but finishes balanced. Hard for me to distinguish this barbera from a zin.

4/28/2024 - G1027 Does not like this wine:
odd smell in two of the bottles. May have gone past the drinking window. Not a bad taste, but not a good wine experience
